Current US Unemployment Rate

The United States unemployment rate has fluctuated lately, as reflected in the graph below.

Information for this graph has been collected by the Bureau of Census for the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The BLS conducts the Current Population Survey (CPS), which is a collection of information designed to provide a comprehensive body of data on the labor force, employment, unemployment, persons not in the labor force, hours of work, earnings, and other demographic and labor force characteristics. Some factors such as season (impacting farm workers) are expected to increase and decrease the unemployment rate, and the BLS provides both seasonally adjusted and non adjusted figures.
